It's sucking up vast quantities of time that I'm supposed to be putting to other things. It's slow work, and it's harder work than it ought to be. Some parts are pretty good, some are okay, and some are bad but getting better. Instead of a word count meter, maybe I should put in a suckitude meter and measure the gradual progress in the right direction that way.
But it will get better, and it will get done.
*"Neither." Sheesh. See what I mean about the words not working?

Ooh, if you find a good suckitude meter --- especially one that updates automatically --- let me know!
Preach it. I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm trying to write a novel and an academic piece at the same time, and trying to do both styles at the same time is making my brain quiver.
Sis, if I find one, I will!
Arbitrista--I can't even imagine trying to do TWO pieces of writing in different forms at the same time. No wonder your brain is quivering!
I am currently part of this movement, with a piece to revise more or less according to my own whims by, er, Thursday, which ought in fact to be done tomorrow. And you know, it's finished, it just kind of sucks and I need to make it better. This isn't how I usually work, and I'm not liking it.
This could be a rebel writing group at this rate.
Jonathan, that's my situation, too.
