Blogging the lost: motivation

I've been gone more than I've been home since the end of school, and throughout all these travels, I kept saying, "When I get home, I am going to have so much energy to write! All that's keeping me from it is being away."

You know where this is going, right? When I sat down to work today, it felt exactly like going back to the gym after lying in a hammock for a month doing nothing. All the bribes in the world (including a new chair!) couldn't make me pay attention to what I was supposed to be writing. The brain isn't a muscle, but if I'd taken a picture of it, it would have looked like the Before shot on a fitness infomercial.

Blogging the lost works for profgrrrl and others, so here it is: if you come across my lost motivation and will to work, send it my way, will you?

Maybe they've run off to the happy land of Motivation Vacation.

Mine is missing as well. Somewhere there is a big motivation party.

Tee hee! That's some great imagery.

I've had an APB out for my motivation for months now. It may have left the country.

Mwhahahahahaha I thought I found some extra motivation lying on the ground today --- it kept me working in the library all afternoon!

Unfortunately I think that level of perseverance was probably equal to the entire North American academic motivational output. Sorry!

Clearly we all need to find that motivation party. It's probably at the Dr Crazy/Dr Medusa lounge, which only looks closed . . . there's really a hot private party going on with all our motivations.

Did it work?

I think mine is out having cocktails.

At a party, left the country, at the Crazy/Medusa lounge, having cocktails--sounds like our motivations are having a better time than we are!

Hope your absence is due to revisiting that elusive land of motivation!
