I have to be on FB now because of a lost cat (more on that) and have enjoyed it up until very recently.

Dame Eleanor--howdy to you! It's professionally useful, but honestly, I really resent the idea that we have to be there.

undinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05589384016564587214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22001031.post-54786396788221764242021-07-22T09:31:08.009-07:002021-07-22T09:31:08.009-07:00Just stopping by to say howdy while I'm signed...Just stopping by to say howdy while I'm signed into this account! I know I miss some CFP etc by not being on Twitter but from what various people like you say, and from threads I sometimes read b/c of bloggers' links, I think not being there saves what's left of my sanity.Dame Eleanor Hullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05375888639449362655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22001031.post-9448610234366447492021-07-20T11:02:55.573-07:002021-07-20T11:02:55.573-07:00I am on Facebook pro forma so I'd participate ...I am on Facebook pro forma so I'd participate in a biweekly writers group; I find Facebook profoundly stupid, the interface insufferable, and don't for the life of me understand the appeal.

I am on Twitter, though, and enjoy it for the most part. I stay within literary Twitter, where I am most interested in calls for new anthologies and magazines, news of other people's publications, endless reading fodder, and jokes/memes. Even so, I have to curate my timeline pretty aggressively and seemingly with increasing frequency, as it tends to quickly devolve into stupidity (e.g., someone self-promoting too much; random kerfuffles). I mute people and phrases with wild abandon, and don't follow anyone new without a very good reason. Personally, I think Twitter works best for connecting with people over a shared hobby or other interest.

xykademiqzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18306861394466282929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22001031.post-32762388822419476402021-07-19T14:06:11.441-07:002021-07-19T14:06:11.441-07:00I keep trying to do Twitter but I get bored so fas...I keep trying to do Twitter but I get bored so fast.Zhttp://profacero.blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22001031.post-66406564816922098882021-07-19T09:28:21.753-07:002021-07-19T09:28:21.753-07:00Much longer than 15 years ago!!!Much longer than 15 years ago!!!nicoleandmaggiehttp://nicoleandmaggie.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22001031.post-48359298767194343682021-07-19T06:15:56.203-07:002021-07-19T06:15:56.203-07:00Ok, so completely ironically I saw Gay's piece...Ok, so completely ironically I saw Gay's piece and decided not to read it because of how Gay behaved on Twitter probably about five years ago. Gay and others quoting Gay and it was all too much.

So I appreciate your reading of Gay's reading of Twitter.gwinnenoreply@blogger.com
